Anglo Australian Motorsport Dominate 2010 NSW Formula Ford Championship

Anglo Australian Motorsport has walked away from the 2010 NSW Formula Ford Championship with a fourth consecutive championship title and second and third standings respectively. Adam Leung who was runner up and Rookie of The Year in the 2009 championship took out the title by just four points after a tough year long battle with fellow Anglo driver Richard ‘Spike’ Goddard that came down to the final race of the 2010 season, “it is a dream to win the championship and has been a long five years investing to get to this point, its been a long season and a tough battle with Spike but I got it in the end”. When questioned about his 2011 Motorsport endeavours Adam said that he simply “ecstatic with the championship win and just enjoying the moment”.

Richard ‘Spike’ Goddard walked away from the final round of the season with a clean sweep securing pole position at all five rounds of the championship and a close second in the championship in his first full year in a Formula Ford the young talent had the following to say about his achievements for the 2010 season “I have had a great season and am very happy with the support from Anglo and would also like to extend a big thank you to Mike Reedy. It has been great racing all year especially with Adam and I am happy with second. It came down to the wire with four points between us”. Spike will make the move to British Formula Ford for the 2011 season.

Young racer Jon Collins took out third place in the championship by a mere two points from fourth place and Rookie of The Year honours for his performance throughout the 2010 season, “it has been a great first year and I am happy to come away with third in the championship, rookie of the year and the pre-2000 class. This season has been a big learning curve and I am happy with the end result”.

In addition to the top three championship holders, Anglo Australian Motorsport also ran Steven Charman in the VIC Formula Ford Championship who finished in an impressive fifth place in his first full season as well as competing at two Eastern Creek rounds in the NSW Formula Ford Championship and Sue Collins, mother of third place holder Jon Collins in the Petite Series of the NSW Formula Ford Championship.

Steven Charman was delighted being in the car for the final round of the NSW Formula Ford Championship with the VIC state titles having wrapped up the final

weekend of September, “I am very happy with my first full season in Formula Ford, I have learnt a lot from my team mates at Anglo and has also been very good to have the support of my family throughout the year as well as sponsor Intelligent Developments, it’s a great way to finish off the year with third outright and fastest lap in the last race. Interested to see what 2011 holds”.

Sue Collins who brings her own refreshing humour to the predominately male team was thrilled to step into a Formula Ford having previously competed in production cars, “its been a massive learning curve coming from the production car but cannot thank the guys enough for helping an old duck out, hoping to be back with Anglo for 2011. The Collins clan covered both ends of the grid and I am rapped with Jon’s third place, looking forward to 2011”.

After another dominating performance from Anglo Australian Motorsport each of the team’s drivers had nothing but praise for team manager, Tim Beale and the whole crew within the Anglo outfit with each wanting to extend their gratitude and appreciation for the team’s encouragement, guidance and support throughout the 2010 season.
