Junior Driver Development Program

Anglo is a professional motor racing team operated by Owner/Manager, Tim Beale and staff. Tim brings a wealth of experience from England - the home of Formula Ford - where he raced and engineered Formula Fords competitively. His vast experience ensures fast and reliable race cars.

AAM is currently looking for two young drivers to fill the JDP State Level seats for the 2008 season. Starting in the middle of 2007 they will be scheduling one-day test sessions at Wakefield Park. Drivers will complete approximately 80-90 laps in the Formula Ford race cars.

In the first year, Anglo raised sufficient funds to assist one JDP driver at the State Level. The JDP expanded to a two-car team in 2003 and advanced to National Level in 2004.

The new JDP State Championship drivers for the 2008 season are Rob Storey at National Level, Tom Tweedie, Nathan Morcom and Ryan Simpson at State Level.

Adam Leung is new to the racing scene with 2009 being his first ever season racing in any category. Burning with a passion for motor racing since an early age, Adam finally turned to car club events and tarmac rallies to satisfy his hunger. He quickly discovered a natural talent after many successes within the club motorkhana and super sprint arena, competing in various road cars. In 2004, Adam won the Porsche Club of NSW Motorkhana Championship then went on to finish 2nd Outright in the NSW Dutton Rally series, outperforming the previous year’s champion. In 2005 Adam was invited to co-drive a Porsche GT3 race car at the annual “Island Magic” event at Phillip Island. Having never previously driven this car nor been to Phillip Island, Adam out-qualified the team’s regular driver and performed impressively in the Enduro race itself. It was then that Adam took the plunge, knowing it would cost him his entire life savings he finally decided to pursue a career in open wheel racing. It felt natural to partner with Anglo Motorsport and in his first year in Formula Ford Adam finished 2nd outright in the NSW State Championship competing a 16yr old Van Diemen Stealth. He also won the Rookie of the Year title and became the Pre-2000 car class champion along the way. Adam now campaigns a Spirit WL07 setting his sights on the outright 2010 NSW Championship title.

Richard Goddard (better known as Spike) started his racing career in 2009. At the end of the 2009 racing season he competed in three race meetings to prepare for the 2010 season. In his first race meeting at Wakefield Park he achieved 2nd place overall behind Leigh Burgess the eventual Formula Ford NSW State Champion in 2009. In 2010 Spike will be competing in both the NSW and Victorian Formula Ford State Championships. Spike’s long-term goal is to pursue a career as a racing driver and hopes to go to England and compete in the British Formula Ford Championships in 2011.
